Wasikowska is no stranger to playing outspoken heroines since Tim Burton hand-picked the 20-year-old Australian to portray the eponymous Alice in his long-awaited reimagining of 'Alice in Wonderland,' a film that will doubtless catapult Wasikowska to the forefront of Hollywood's hot list. In addition to Disney's 'Alice,' Wasikowska has scored a role in Gus Van Sant's as-yet untitled project to be produced by Bryce Dallas Howard and her father Ron Howard , tentatively scheduled for release in 2011. HUGH Jackman has passed the Sexiest Man Alive crown to Johnny Depp, who has claimed the title from America's People magazine for a second time. Depp, 46, headed a list of 15, which was announced today. "At 46, the father of two still reigns as Hollywood's most irresistible iconoclast; as one-of-a-kind as his beloved 15-year-old boots and as smouldering as his favourite Cuban cigars," the magazine said on its website.  

In the week that NME announced its 50 records of this past decade, I heard one of the next decade's best. I admit this sounds like an outrageous claim, especially in a world saturated with statements about what's fresh and hot. But when the album I'm talking about twists a 21st-century phenomenon in a refreshing way, and redirects it towards a rather interesting future, I think polemic is necessary.
